Commissioned by the Singing Wilderness Festival's music director, Cary John Franklin. It is an arrangement of a movement of the string trio called Around Columbia. Inspiration is taken from two towns in Central Missouri: Mexico is where high school classical musical ensembles compete each Spring; Bolivar (prounounced BALL-ih-ver) is where I would go to the VFW as a high school kid looking for fun and sometimes trouble. Chamber versions available.

The score invites slight choreography among the players when the tango implies a "dip."
